Life
1820-1889 [William Robert; pseud. ‘Scrutator’]; author of The Adventures of Mick Callighin, M.P: A Story of Home Rule and The De Burghos: A Romance [bound together] (1874), the former a satire on Home-rulers, the latter a romance of Arthur Mervyn and Nora, dg. of Col. De Burgho, home from Italy, in which the hero rescues the latter from pirates and marries her;[as 'Scrutator'] Roman Catholic Schools: A Warning to England (1875); Dowdenham: A Tale of High Life in Present Period (1879).
