1939- ; author of A Few Late Roses (1998), a novel of women’s lives set in Armagh; also Stranger in the Place (1998) and Summer on the Hawthorn (1999); also On a Clear Day (2001), a tale of orphanage and growth in which Clare Hamilton plans a new life with Andrew Richardson in Canada but leaves alone for Paris after family tragedy changes her mind; a sequel, Beyond the Green Hills (2003), set in Armagh and Paris; also The Woman from Kerry (2003), The Hamiltons of Ballydown (2004) and The Hawthorns Bloom in May (2006), a trilogy.
