Sir St. George Gore spent £20,000 on a hunting expedition to Colorado in which he slaughtered a great number of bison and other species, travelling with a bathtub embossed with the family crest (See Dave Wallaces article on Gore in Myles Dungan, ed., Speaking Ill of the Dead, New Island Press, 2007; noticed in Books Ireland, Summer 2008.)
