President of the Irish Georgian Society; resides at Leixlip Castle; author of Irish Country Houses (?1977); Portrait of Dublin, An Examination of Its Notable Buildings (Batsford 1967); his wife Mariga was a moving spirit in the Society and the movement to restore Georgian Dublin.
