Fermanagh; worked on Fermanagh News; joines Sinn Féin, 1905; interned in Belfast Lough on Argenta; described appalling conditions in Larne Workhouse in Sunday Express; SF MP for Fermanagh/Tyrone, 1922; released, 1924; Nat. MP for Fermanagh in Stormont, 1925; made impassioned speech against chronic mistreatment of Catholic minority; MP in Westminster, 1950-55; book of poems with Cathal O’Byrne, The Lane of Thrushes (1905); a novel [unnamed], and a children’s story [do.].
