lists Maurice Bagena Keating, d. 1835; soldier and author; commissioned 3rd dragoons 1778 as cornet, Major 22nd Light Dragoons in 1782; half-pay officer in 1783; MP for Kildare in 1790 and 1801; In 1784, he accompanied Consul-gen. George Payne on a journey producing Travels in Europe and Africa (1816); reissued as Travels through France and Spain, and Morocco (1817); Eidometia, or Optic Mensuration (1812); translated The True History of the Conquest of Mexico, from Spanish of Bernal Diaz de Castillo (1800), praised by Southey.
