Life
1961- ; b. Boston into Irish-American family; grad. Harvard (BA), winning Charles E. Horman Prize in fiction writing as an undergraduate; complete an MA at John Hopkins; winner of a Henfield/Translatlantic Review Award for Creative Writing; issued The Early Arrival of Dreams (1990), an account of her year teaching in China; spent 1991 in Ireland, travelling and interviewing prominent Irish women including President Mary Robinson, Ruth Riddick, Mary Dorcey, Mary ODonnell and Eavan Boland, Whoredom in Kimmage (1990), a comic-feminist study of Irish womens lives from Corofin to Dublin.
