1959- ; b. Newcastle West, Co. Limerick; performance poet; author of six collections incl. author of a novel, The Making of a Pagan (1990), Tenant (1999), a narrative sequence set in the Irish Famine; When the Air Inhales You (2009), and Savage Solitude (2013); also three novels (digital publ.); winner of Single Poem Prize with “Easter 1916” at Listowel Writers’ Week, 2016; Parvit of Agelast, a verse-fantasy, shortlisted for the Pigott Poetry Prize, 2017;

awarded Irish Arts Council bursary and several school residencies; on the volume of poetry, Divas! (2003) with jointly issued Deirdre Brennan and Nuala Ní Chonchúir;lived and Belfast and later in in Dublin; film collaborations incl. Flight, winner of Janet Mullarney Prize, 2020; also writes for children on Lyric FM and translates from Arabic and Galician; teaches poetry for children. DIL2
