Life
1856-1927; Cardinal Archbishop, renowned scholar, preacher and adminsistrator; influential in land reform education and finance; Irish language student, author of paastoral letters considered masters of exposition as well as Celtic phrases and form; president over 4th Plenary Synod of Maynooth, opening session, 3 Aug. 1927, shortly before his death; recipient of Unique Item, Illuminated address in Celtic Revival Binding, from the Catholics of Belfast, congratualting him on elevation to Cardinalate; art-work and scribing by Seasom Ó Diomashaigh [Joseph Dempsey, Belfast].
