1530-?1603; ruler of the Mayo clan OMalley; m. Donall OFlaherty, 1546; married Sir Richard Burke, after his death at the hands of the Joyces; embarked on piracy from stronghold Carrigahowly Castle, on Clare Island; proclaimed by crown, but offered fleet of three galleys and 200 men to Sir henry Sidney, 1576; chased Armada ships; visited Queen Elizabeth in London.
