Life 1855-1951; Abbey actor; m. Molly Allgood; played Joxer in the London premier of Juno and the Paycock, and appeared also in the London premier of The Plough and the Stars; after his separation from Allgood, went on to appear in films incl. King Solomon's Mines (1937), Charing Cross Road (1936) and Sing As We Go! (1934); a port. by Robert Gregory is owned by the Abbey Theatre; another by Robert Gregory of Sinclair, in the role as James II in Lady Gregorys The White Cockade (Dec. 1905), is displayed at Coole Park Interpretative Centre; d. 14 Dec. 1951, in Belfast.
