[Mrs Edward Dowden, qv.]; dg. John West, Dean of St Patrick’s; met Edmund Dowden [q.v.] as a student at Alexandra Coll., 1867; formed long lasting friendship and married hi on the death of his wife in 1895; his collection A Woman’s Reliquary is dedicated to her; Verses by EDW (Dublin 1876); Verses, Part 2 (Dublin 1883); Iphigeneia in Tauris, trans. from Goethe [Temple Dramatists] (1906); she edited Poems by Edward Dowden (1914) and Letters of Edward Dowden and his Correspondents, with her sister H.M.
