1936- [James John McAuley]; b. Dublin; worked in ESB, and then as reviewer and journalist; grad. Arkansas Univ., as mature student; taught poetry and Irish studies; appt. Prof. of English at Eastern Washington University; issued several poetry collections incl. Observations (1960),A New Address (1965), Draft Balance Sheet: Poems 1963-1969 (1970), After the Blizzard (1975), Recital: Poems 1975-1980 (1982), Coming and Going: New and Selected Poems (Arkansas UP 1989), and New and Selected Poems (2005); retired and lives in Dublin.
