Life
1933- ; musician; b. Dublin; ed. Royal Irish Academy of Music, and at UCD under Dr. John F. Lachet; National University of Ireland traveling studentship, 1956; Arts Council prize for composition, 1956; studied in Stuttgart, 1957-59 with Johann Nepomuk David (composition), Hans Müller-Kray (conducting) and Alfred Krantz (piano); on staff at UCD Music Dept. since 1959; Doctorate in Music, UCD, 1960 (taking Symphony for Full Orchestra as his exercise); winner Macauley Fellowship for composition, 1962; conductor of Culwick Choral Society; lecturer and broadcaster.
