A member of the executive of the Gaelic League, she took sides with Peadar Ó Laoghaire against MaNeill and others in the matter of preferring the colloquial dialect of Munster Gaelic (caint na ndaoine) over classical Irish; principal of the Irish Book Company, which produced her Ceatha Gaedhilge: Irish Reading Lessons (Dublin: DOlier St. Irish Book Co. 1904), with ills. by Jack B. Yeats.
