Life
?-1791; b. Dublin, studied under Robert West; scene painter for Smock Alley and Crow Street Theatres, Dublin; invited to London by Garrick and served as princ. scene painter at Drury Lane, 1797; followed Spranger Barry to Covent Garden, remaining there till his death; practised successfully as landscape painter; exhibited paintings at the RA, 1789 and 1790;
d. 13 Bow St., London; his Landscape
with Peasants and a Dog is in the National Gallery of Ireland.
