1876-1943, b. Patrick Jeremias in Co. Kerry, son of small farmer; family emigrated to Massechusetts; exhibited Philadelphia; Roycroft colony, nr. Buffalo, 1898-1903; visited Italy, 1903; memorial to Walt Whitman; Archbishop Carroll memorial, Georgetwon, 1912; Robert Emmet, 1917, in Smithsonian, and recast for Stephen’s Green; head of Eamon de Valera, 1921; angles of the battlefield, 1924; memorial for victims of Lusitania at Cobh; worked on Lusitania memorial for 14 years, and planned other Irish monuments to 1798. Died Adelaide Hospital, b. Mount Jerome. DIB
