Sir Denis Henry
Life 1864-1925?; b. Cahore, Draperstown, Co. Derry; son of prosperous Catholic business family; ed. locally and QUB (Law); opposed Home Rule in 1886; twice defeated in Westminster elections for seat in N. Tyrone, 1906 & 1907; elected MP for Derry in May 1916; appt. Solicitor-General of Ireland, 1918; Att.-Gen., 1919; First Irish Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, to 1925; see A. D.
