1940- ; b. Nenagh, Co. Tipperary; joined the Christian Brothers, 1953; poetry collections incl. Fíon As Seithí Óir (1972), Asail (1982), An Dá Scór (1984), and An Giotár Meisce (1988); and Plumaí (1997); also Sean-Dair (1985) and Scéalta nach Beag (2003), short stories; Désirée (1989) is a novel and Geineasas (1991) is a novella; both An Leanbh sa Lamborghini (1996) and Na Flaithis go hArd (2011) are novels; he has also written for children with Crúibín (Cló Mhaigh Eo 2002), Cara ag Crúibín (2003), and Crúibín agus an t-Asal (2007) with Cló Maigh Eo (Mayo Press).
