The primary aim of the RICORSO Library is to act as an archive for digitised versions of classic Irish texts along with monographs and articles employed in the construction of this website - and, in the process, to provide a hub around which ever-larger numbers of such texts can be mirrored in digital form for the benefit of Irish studies. Texts by major Irish authors held at RICORSO include some which were available between the lapse of copyright and its resumption under European Union legislation and therefore no longer in the public domain. Yeats and Joyce are the key instances. These are conserved under password access and will so remain unless the authors’ estates permit the publication of electronic editions.
